Lakepoint Resort State Park in Eufaula recently earned a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor.com, according to an Alabama State Parks press release.

Lakepoint was one of 18 Alabama state parks to receive the honor and one of three to earn it for the first time. To gain the recognition, a place must have maintained an overall rating of four out of five stars within a set number of reviews and have been listed on the TripAdvisor.com website for at least one year.

About 10 percent of listings on TripAdvisor earn the designation.

“Our staff has worked very hard to make Lakepoint an attractive, restful and pleasant place for our guests to enjoy,” said Sharon Matherne, General Manager of the Lakepoint State Park Lodge. “It is a thrill to know that our guests recognized Lakepoint as a great place to visit and that we earned this Certificate of Excellence for the first time. We have a lot to offer, especially for people who love to fish on beautiful Lake Eufaula.”

Additionally 10 state parks received "Hall of Fame" status from TripAdvisor for registering five consecutive Certificate of Excellence wins.
