Willie Faye Parker, of Dothan, died Monday night, December 3, 2018, in a Dothan hospital. She was 81. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, December 6, 2018, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Tolver Dozier, Merwin Granberry and Reverend Tom Dyson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, near Headland. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:30 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Ms. Parker was born and reared in the Pleasant Plains Community, between Headland and Columbia, daughter of the late Walter Jefferson Parker and Alice Dae Hickman Parker. She lived most of her adult lifetime in New Orleans before moving to Dothan in 2007. Ms. Parker was retired as a Registered X-Ray Technician from Baptist Hospital in New Orleans. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dae Parker Granberry and also an infant sister, Corinna Parker. Surviving relatives include her sister, Robbie McCallister (Jerry), Dothan; nieces and nephews, Tina Wagner (Jim), Kay Dozier (Tol), Merwin Granberry (Hayward), Ilona Dyson (Tom), Cindy DeShazo (Izie), and Rex Granberry; several great-nieces and great-nephews, and a special person in her life, Van Theriot. Serving as active pallbearers will be Tolver Dozier, Tol Dozier, Colby Whitehead, Jim Wagner, Merwin Granberry and Rex Granberry. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
