Much of the news is currently focused on legislation passed to end abortion in Alabama, Georgia, and other states. We are proud to support these laws.
The sixth commandment given by God in Exodus 20: 13 simply says “Thou shalt not kill.” Exodus 21:22-23 specifically addresses the killing of an unborn child. The New International Version reads: 22 “If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life.”
This clearly gives an unborn child the status of a living, human being, worthy of the same protections of any other person. If the child is injured, stillborn, or miscarried, a penalty must be paid, up to and including death of the perpetrator. This law was established to protect those most vulnerable -- women and children.
Pro-choice advocates attempt to use these same passages of scripture to justify abortion. They fail miserably because the scripture is referring to an accidental injury and there will never be an “accidental abortion.”
Throughout history there has been barbaric destruction of children. Today, those choosing abortion are advocating the same savage deeds. God is a god of love and patience, but he will not allow this to go unpunished. Surely a time of reckoning will come.
And just as surely, there can be forgiveness and healing. Make the right choice.
