I tried to reach U.S. Rep. Martha Roby to make a comment about her performance during Judiciary Committee hearings on May 8. I phoned her office on that day around 12:16 p.m. and spoke calmly and politely to voice my concerns.
Imagine my surprise when her Washington office hung up on me. Is that the way an American citizen should be treated by a Representative of Congress? Does Roby deserve another term if that's the way her office conducts itself? I ask the readers to consider this behavior in 2020. If our representatives refuse to listen to us, the American people, then what does that say about our democracy? Is it really a government by the people? Under Roby, I think not.
