I had hoped that Gov. Kay Ivey, as a woman, would not sign the proposed abortion ban bill that strips rights from us — but she did. At this point in time, I and numerous others are all searching for a new state to live in because the backwards steps Alabama never fails to take are humiliating.

We will never progress like this. And it's completely not shocking that this was even proposed due to Alabama coming last in nearly every other aspect of nationwide competition. Why not take steps back in laws as well?

This bill is idiotic, a direct attack on women, and another reason for Alabama to be criticized. In reality, not even 25 percent of Alabama citizens are in favor of it.

The governor should know that she can't end abortion, but she can end safe ones.
