The Dothan Wolves’ football opener against Clay-Chalkville, announced earlier this spring, has become part of a benefit for two charities, according to an announcement Tuesday.
The Dothan versus Clay-Chalkville game is part of a doubleheader on Aug. 24 at Thompson that also features the host Warriors against Davidson. The doubleheader is being dubbed the “Go Gold Bowl” by host team Thompson.
According to a release, 70 percent of the “all sponsorship dollars” raised for the event will go to Children’s of Alabama and The Elaine Roberts Foundation.
The Dothan-Clay-Chalkville game is set for 3 p.m., with the Thompson-Davidson game to start around 7:30 p.m.
The game will be the first for the new Dothan Wolves following the consolidation of Dothan and Northview.
